When we hear the word credit we automatically think of two things… money and debt.
Credit cards, credit scores, interest rates, a whole system set up by bankers to do one thing… keep us trapped in the 9-5 nightmare forever.
1/3 of your pay is conveniently taken out for you by the government. Another third goes to the bankers to pay off your debts. And the final third pays your endless monthly bills.
Sadly, we have been born into a world where the chips are stacked against us from the beginning. However, this article has nothing to do with beating the system or building up fake financial credit.
This will be about building your personal credit, which is far more important.
You’re Only As Good As Your Word
Your word is the foundation that your personal credit is built on.
Simply put, if your word is shit, you are shit.
Say what you mean and mean what you say.
If you tell someone that you will do something… DO IT.
Don’t pretend like you forgot.
Don’t make up a lame excuse.
Never go back on your word.
The Excuse Makers And Liars Are All The Same
I would always have a certain number of clients tell me they wanted to train on x day at x time and then never show up.
I’d confirm the appointment with them the night before and always make sure to plan my day accordingly.
However, some of these people still wouldn’t show.
No call. No text. Nothing.
They would completely blow me off as if all of our prior communications never happened.
I never understood why people do those type of things but I did notice something. All of these poor personal credit people shared many of the same characteristics.
They drank lots of alcohol, smoked dope, worked at jobs that they hated, and were in terrible physical condition.
In other words… they were a fucking mess.
Because they had no personal credit.
Their personal credit score was 0 and it had a massive negative effect on all other areas of their lives.
Be A Man Of Your Word
No matter what happens in your life, you will always have a few things that can never be taken away from you.
One of those things is your word.
If your word is as good as gold, every aspect of your life will be positively impacted.
You will build an outstanding reputation of reliability and trust which will open up doors that otherwise would have remained shut.
In a world where people are becoming more selfish and disconnected (due to technology and social media), it is the perfect time for you to stand out and be different.
Do your best to build your personal credit and you will be rewarded at some point down the road.
