When I first read The Education Of A Bodybuilder I was just 19 years old.
I got it from my uncle who had an original copy from the 1970s which had been collecting dust in a drawer.
Since back then I had decided to start my own bodybuilding journey, he thought I might find it interesting.
And oh boy, was he right.
I Became Obsessed
There have been very few times in my life where I have been unable to put a book down, but when I read The Education Of A Bodybuilder for the first time, that is exactly what happened.
I was reading it first thing in the morning, during my lunch break at work, and at night before bed. This god damn book put a spell on me.
And it wasn’t even because it contained awesome bodybuilding information (because it definitely does) as it turns out, Arnold’s life story is addicting.
You don’t realize just how improbable his rise to fame was until you read The Education Of A Bodybuilder.
Arnold Schwarzenegger was literally born in the middle of nowhere. A small town surrounded by a forest in Austria.
You know, the kind of place where you’re born and never leave for your entire life.
On top of that, bodybuilding was the most unpopular sport in his home country and nobody understood it.
Everyone thought that Arnold was crazy and his parents were damn close to committing him to a mental health hospital.
I mean why would anybody want to become the most muscular man in the world?
Despite all that, he still achieved all of the goals that he wanted to accomplish.
Anyone who follows bodybuilding knows all about Arnold Schwarzenegger’s legendary 2 a day super workouts.
To this day people are still amazed by the amount of volume and intensity that his body was able to withstand on a regular basis.
Hell, most of the top bodybuilders today don’t train half as hard as Arnold did in his prime.
However, this book actually tells you the truth about how he got so big and strong.
Nope, Arnold trained a completely different way.
I’m not going to spoil it for you but let’s just say that he was one strong motherfucker.
I’ve been reading this book at least once a year since I was 19.
Because it is the most motivational book that I’ve ever read.
Not only does it inspire me to train hard in the weight room, but it also hammers home the idea that you can achieve anything in this world.
As long as you come up with a plan and just do the work everything else will fall into place.
Arnold simply followed the blueprint of men that had already achieved what he wanted (Reg Park and Steve Reeves) and never gave up.
Anyone who wants to be successful can do the same.
Should You Buy?
Despite what you may think, The Education Of A Bodybuilder is about much more than building gigantic muscles.
You will have a hard time putting it down so be careful when you choose to start reading it.
I suggest that you pick a time when you know that you’ll have a couple of days to yourself so that you can enjoy it uninterrupted.
Where Can I Buy The Education Of A Bodybuilder?
Believe it or not, most local bookstores are often sold out of this book because it still flys off the shelves.
